RCX Show

Bryan, being an avid RC Helicopter tinkerer, asked me to go with him to the RCX expo at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA back in March 2010 ( http://www.rcx.com/Me2/Default.asp) . I wanted to see this nerdfest. I was not disappointed. The show was very interesting. lots of model toys, moving toys, remote controlled and fun. There were a lot of booths that sold a bunch of parts that an average person would not understand. [img_assist|nid=87|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=100|height=67] I ended up buying this tiny Helicopter for thirty bucks, which happened to be one of the cheapest RC toys I could find. [img_assist|nid=88|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=100|height=67]. (Sad to say, I brought it home, flew it, and in about an hour, I flew it too high, hit the ceiling, and ended up breaking it. Still, it was very fun to use it for that short time. )

[img_assist|nid=90|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=100|height=67]There were some pretty cool RC's. It was pretty cool to see these toys in detail. This Green RC jeep had a very interesting caption on the bumper, and the painting detail made it look like it was a shrunken reality.

[img_assist|nid=91|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=|width=67|height=100] These two were advertising whatever... Not sure if it worked or not.

[img_assist|nid=93|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=100|height=67] This was pretty sweet. They made a replica big version of the RC.

[img_assist|nid=94|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=|width=100|height=67] This was a pretty big speed track for the RC Cars. It even had a pit stop area and hair pin turns. It was fun practicing my panning technique with my camera on these fast RC cars.

[img_assist|nid=95|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=100|height=67] These drifter RC cars were pretty fun to watch, but at the same time, it was weird watching slippery RC cars that had a hard time making turns.

[img_assist|nid=96|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=|width=100|height=67] This was one of my favorites. There was a stunt helicopter team there. Showing their stuff, they were taking their gas and electric powered helicopters and flying it to the max. upside down, quick turns, crazy maneuvers. It was difficult to take pictures of them, but it was certainly some great helicopter piloting.

[img_assist|nid=104|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=100|height=67] [img_assist|nid=103|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=67|height=100] This was a cool exhibit. A bunch of seniors who were still into making model airplanes and RCs. They wanted me to take a more in depth picture of their handy work.

[img_assist|nid=106|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=|width=67|height=100] This RC Model had great penmanship. So much so that she had a big line of nerds wanting her autograph.

[img_assist|nid=108|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=100|height=67] This brought me back to my kids years. They had a cool racetrack for hot wheels. This was probably the only thing interactive with normal folk... everything else you pretty much had to watch someone else RC their toys. [img_assist|nid=111|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=100|height=67]

[img_assist|nid=107|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=|width=67|height=100] Another booth girl.

[img_assist|nid=109|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=100|height=67] This was pretty sweet. The actual size of this tank was about 2 feet or so in height. Pretty impressed with the detail work, and the soldiers set up [img_assist|nid=110|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=right|width=100|height=67]
